Instructions to enable cookies on your computer from MS Internet Explorer

 

 

Cookies are used in the ABSEL submissions site to enable you to upload your files and properly exchange information with the conferences site, and will also facilitate the times when you re-enter the site to check the status of submissions or review papers.  You may need to enable cookies in order to use the site.  Four steps to enabling cookies using “medium” privacy computer setting are described below.

 

 

1.  From the toolbar menu, click on “Internet Options” under the Tools tab.

2.  Choose the “Privacy” tab. Note that the slider on this computer is set to “Medium.”

Click on the “Advanced” button.

3.  In the Advanced Privacy Settings Box, check or click to fill the circles that say

“Override automatic cookie handling”

“Accept” First-party Cookies

“Prompt” Third-party Cookies

“Always allow session cookies” and then click “OK”

4.   Click on “Apply” and then “OK” under the Privacy tab to apply these settings.

After following these instructions, you will have “Enabled Cookies” using medium privacy settings. Your computer will prompt you when a third party site tries to use cookies, but will accept the cookies from sites that you have selected to visit.  You may need to click to accept a few times when you go back into the ABSEL submissions site until the various systems recognized that yes, your computer will permit cookies for this submissions site.
