ABSEL, The Association for Business Simulation and Experiential
Learning, now has an emphasis on ONLINE LEARNING. In the past four
years, there have been more than twelve papers or panels devoted to
distance learning; we are now interested in formalizing that focus.
ABSEL is a pedagogy focused professional organization of committed
scholar-teachers, and we have always covered teaching innovations,
especially technological innovations. Our membership, almost to a
person, is interested in learning enhancement and the relative
effectiveness of teaching approaches and methodologies., We design,
assess and undertake research on games, exercises and other teaching
methodologies. For our 2004 Las Vegas conference and beyond, one of our
concentrations will be online and distance learning. We welcome
theoretical and empirical scholarly papers, thought pieces, panels,
innovations, and interactive sessions. Our atmosphere is supportive and
informal. It is exciting to us to discuss teaching.
